How does a manual thermostat work

A manual thermostat will have a dial on the front which you can turn. You set it to the temperature you want your house to be, and it will detect whether or not the room is at that temperature. If it's colder than you require, the thermostat with signal to the boiler that it needs to turn on and heat your central heating again, and if the room is at the right temp or warmer, the boiler will switch off until the temperature drops once more.
